Yesterday, I posted a “Wanted” ad on our private work website. I specially asked for a typewriter that works and preferably free, but I would be willing to pay. Also, the ad mentioned I would be using it for scrapbooking. Within five minutes I received a phone call and Mr. J. Rice gave me a typewriter …that works and he did not charge me.

Today, everything worked out perfectly. He was in a training class at the same time I was in the same building taking photos of a conference room touch panel our team installed. I met with Mr. Rice, talked a little bit, and obtained my new typewriter. He collects them and said he needed to clean out his collection, so he would not charge me. He was glad to give it to someone that would use the typewriter. He’s also going to give me an IBM Selectric II, which is my absolute favorite typewriter.

I will be using the typewriter for Project Life. Sometimes, we just need to ask for what we need.

I have so many pens and markers that I needed an easy way to store them. I used plastic bins and sorted the pens/markers by color. This has been an easy and efficient way to store my pens/markers.

I went to the scrapbook store after my Dr. appointment and that was very uplifting.  Delores and Darlene are so sweet.  They spend time talking to me and we tell stories about past experiences.  I found out that one of their friends, Ann, has thyroid cancer.  Poor thing has had a rough time with her health.  She is such a nice lady and a great Silhouette teacher.

Scrapbook Project – Coin Album

Posted: October 25, 2009 in Scrapbook
After spending almost all day outside sweeping, shoveling, and blowing leaves off the decks, porch, and driveway (oh, and the lawn mower wouldn’t crank)…. I get to play in my craft room.

Tonight I am working on an album for my husband.  His stepfather, Daddy Bill (William D. Kidd), gave him some miscellaneous coins a very long time ago.  Instead of keeping them in a jar hidden away, I thought it would be a good idea to give them a little more respect.  I plan to use the first few pages to include photos of Daddy Bill and journal about him.  Eventually, I will search the internet for information about the coins and place my findings where the posit-it-note is on the page. If you have ideas on how to attach multiple coins to a 5×7 page, please let me know.

Here is a picture of the first page (incomplete).  I used my Silhouette to create the cover for the dime coin mount and Xyron Create-a-Sticker. The coin mount is fastened with a brad and gromlet.  This will allow the coin to be removed and replaced in the coin mount.
This is a photo of my creative process ("my mess").
